Description

Rutherford, New Jersey, $5, Ch#5005, Fr.# Plain Back, S/N 23061, pp C, Choice VF with nice margins and fresh appearance. Bears the signature of Fairleigh Dickenson as "President." Dickinson and Maxwell Becton founded their surgical firm, Becton Dickinson in New York in 1897, and moved it to Rutherford several years later. It soon became one of the largest surgical instrument manufacturing concerns in the U.S.. Rare signed National Banknote. His son later went on to run his company as well as become a New Jersey State senator.
