Vera Cruz, Mexico. $500, Mortgage deed of trust naming properties in Vera Cruz and palaces on St. Thomas and Turbaco in New Granada. Majestic palace in middle, green "$500" underprint, Green and red seals at left, Very Fine, one light vertical fold keeps this bond from XF/AU. Santa Anna or López de Santa Anna, was a Mexican politician and general who fought to defend royalist New Spain and then for Mexican independence.
